Solar cell devices and fabrication methods thereof are presented. A solar cell device with nano-scale structure to improve optical absorption efficiency includes a first conductive layer, an optical-to-electrical conversion structure disposed on the first conductive layer, a plurality of nano-particles dispersed and indented into a surface of the optical-to-electrical conversion structure, wherein part of each nano-particle is exposed from the optical-to-electrical conversion structure, and a second conductive layer disposed overlying the optical-to-electrical conversion structure and the nano-particles.
